Our creative design professionals put our clients at the center of the home remodeling design process, listening to their remodeling ideas, understanding their financial objectives and most importantly, embracing their vision for their home and family. At each stage of the construction process, our project manager meets with homeowners and keeps them informed of all aspects of their project.
Our 4-phased design process
Our time-tested home remodeling design process includes four important phases. Each step builds on the learning we’ve done in the previous phases. Clients are actively engaged in the project at every step.
Phase 1: Getting to know you and your remodeling goals
The first stage of our design process revolves around our clients’ vision for their home. We gather important information about the family’s lifestyle, space requirements, style and design concepts, and organizational needs. We meet at the clients’ home to gain firsthand information about the home’s structure and style and assess any technical challenges we might encounter. We also discuss the homeowners’ budget goals and schedule objectives which are critical components in our decision-making.
Phase 2: Developing a budget proposal
Using the information gathered in Phase 1, we will create a comprehensive initial budget. The budget proposal is organized to follow the milestones in the order of construction. At the same time, we map out the initial schedule for the project. We offer financial solutions and discuss those during the budget proposal presentation. This phase concludes with the signing of the budget agreement.
Phase 3: Design work
With the agreement in place, our creative team goes into high gear, creating the overall design, developing necessary structural modifications and making initial material recommendations. But design does not stop here! Based on our 45 years of design and build experience, we will also offer recommendations for exteriors and architectural influences to ensure a seamless fit with the home’s existing design. We join our clients in discovering options for fixtures such as plumbing, lighting, and cabinet hardware. Together, we’ll evaluate colors, floor coverings, wall and countertop surface treatments, and more.
Once the final design has been established, a comprehensive building contract will be fine-tuned so that the homeowner and our team have complete clarity and agreement on the path.
Phase 4: Construction – bringing the vision to life
The construction phase is just as important in the home remodeling design process as the other 3 phases – maybe more important. This is when the project comes to life. It’s exciting for homeowners and our team to see the designs move from the page to the rooms of the home. We take pride in our work and our ability to make our clients’ visions become reality! Upon completion of the construction phase, we’ll walk through the new spaces with the homeowners. We’ll inspect all the fine details that reflect the care and attention we give every project and welcome you to your new rooms.
