Life can be hectic sometimes – family, kids, friends and extracurriculars are what makes our worlds go ’round, but we can sometimes bring undue stress in to our lives in the process. We all try to take some time for ourselves throughout the year for an outdoor adventure or family vacation, but it is important to take some time out in your day-to-day life as well. Cue the master bath.

The bathroom has different purposes and an expansive master bath can separate the functional areas for privacy and elbow room.  Kohler, the plumbing fixture company, talks about “performance showering” and “relaxing bathing” as separate activities. You can adopt this idea by separating the bathtub and shower. Make your bath a place for rest and respite. Including a large, comfy tub, a window for outdoor gazing, and places to set candles and a nice glass of wine are just a few ideas.

His and her sinks make mornings more efficient and pleasant. With this feature, you both now have room to dress, shave, apply makeup, etc., in your own space without hassle, while still enjoying each others presence.

Most importantly, the toilet should be placed in a separated water closet, with a solid wall partition isolating it from the rest of the bathroom. This gives you both the privacy you need for having shared relaxation with functional bathroom use.
